UK Hustings
Caroline Lucas (Green) signs the pledge
EU trade policy raised on campaign trail
The British tradition of 'hustings' meetings of prospective candidates has been part of the run-up to the elections. RISC hosted a debate on climate change and trade policy between Caroline Lucas (Green), Sharon Bowles (Lib Dem), Janet Kene (Labour) and Philip van der Helst (UK Independence Party). All candidates called for a review of EPAs but only Lucas (see photo) and Bowles were willing to sign up to the TJM Pledge to 'Be A Trade Hero'. So far, 67 candidates in the UK have signed the pledge.
