Help stop unfair trade agreements which threaten the futures of 750 million people worldwide - support the Stop EPAs campaign.
Partnership for Change (Amici dei Popoli, Ceast, CMO, Hegoa, Risc), in cooperation with FairWatch, Crocevia, Manitese, Mais, Sci, Terra Nuova and the european Ngos of the Stop Epa Campaign (http://epawatch.eu) ask you to sign the on-line petition to demand to the European Union to change its approach to the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) negotiations. EPAs threaten the future of 750 millions people in 76 Countries in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP). Over the last years they have been involved in negotiations with the European Union that is pressuring them to sign free-trade agreements although these Countries's GDPs are 1.400 times smaller than the EU GDP. Previous EU-ACP agreements (conventions) took into account the solidarity dimension. But today, EPAs introduce free trade not only in the area of goods, but also of services, public tenders and investments along with new intellectual property rights norms. ACP Countries claim that we can't apply the same norms to Regions with unequal conditions.
Make your voice heard, send the letter in the attachment to politicians and Members of the European Parliament.
These trade deals could have devastating effects on some of the world's poorest countries.
